Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Standard and Pro?
Firstly, it is our core belief that ALL tiers should have access to the same fundamental features to make your event a success. For instance, one unnamed competitor requires you to upgrade to their $297/month tier before you get access to affiliate tracking. We include it in every membership, and there's no limit to what type of event you can hold. What makes Pro and Agency special is their scale.

The difference between Standard and Pro comes down to one main question - do you need to accept registrations for more than one event at a time? If so, choose Pro.
Should I choose Standard, Pro, or Agency?
Standard is perfect if you're a casual event host and never plan on hosting multiple events at the same time. This could be a weekly webinar, a summit, or a multi-day event.

Pro is ideal if hosting a virtual event is a serious part of your business growth strategy. If you want events to be a part of your "funnel", then choosing Pro will be right for you. As an example, you can host a summit, and while the summit is running, you can also run a recurring webinar. Both the summit and the webinar promote a multi-day event which takes place the week after. We ourselves used this structure for our summit in January 2021, leading to a webinar and 3-day event. Because all 3 events were open for registration at the same time, a Pro account is needed. Pro also enables custom domains - which means your event can run 100% on your own domain instead of using eventraptor.com.

Agency is best for you if you plan on using EventRaptor with clients, and is explained in more detail below.
How could I make money as an Agency?
Agency is for you if virtual events are your business. If you host many events at the same time, or provide event management services for clients, you should choose Agency. One agency user is planning to run 12 summits over the next 12 months, and has 30+ events planned for clients. Agency users will have a special agency dashboard, that allows them to get a full overview of all their events, and any events they are managing on behalf of clients. Some advanced agency-level features are planned for development, and we are working closely with people who manage events as their core business in order to understand their needs and build EventRaptor to be the perfect system for them to run their business.

There are lots of different ways to run your business using EventRaptor. We'll have a Service Provider directory so you can advertise your virtual events services with users. Here are some ideas from other service providers:

  • Run someone's summit for them - we know of someone who charges $10K + 50% of all upsell revenue to create your summit, including all the research and speakers that goes into it
  • Run the audio/visual or manage the Zoom room for someone during their multi-day event
  • Teach someone how to run events, and offer event management services to them
  • Host a giveaway for someone - we are currently running giveaways for a few people, charging $750 + 50% of contributor fees, and have more than covered the cost of an Agency account
Do I need to use EventRaptor for all parts of my event?
We're building EventRaptor so you can run all parts of your event using the system. But you don't have to.

EventRaptor will be open, so you can get your data out at any time and use it with your other systems. We're firm believers that you should own your data. In fact, a lack of control over our data was the reason we switched from the summit software we were planning to use, which was how the early version of EventRaptor first came about.

If you want to use EventRaptor as your central system for managing your event and attendees, great! Our focus will be on the events themselves, but you can take full advantage of our functionality.

And if you already have most of your processes down (e.g. in Infusionsoft), and just want to use EventRaptor to manage the speakers then export the data, that's great too.

In fact, when we launch, you'll still need to use your existing workflow with EventRaptor. For instance, we don't currently support payments, so if you run a paid event, you will need to collect payment for tickets using a checkout platform like Thrivecart.
What type of training is available?
We'll have different types of free and paid training, along with certification options available in the future.

Free training will cover things like how to use EventRaptor for your event and how to get the most out of the features available.

Paid training will cover more information that will help your events succeed - such as marketing, strategy, and more.

We'll also have certification options, so you can learn EventRaptor inside-out and become a certified EventRaptor specialist, so you can consult for and manage other peoples' events.
What tech does this run on? (Don't worry about this question if you're not a techie!)
EventRaptor is running on PHP, developed using Laravel, and we're using Digital Ocean and AWS for hosting. For the real techies: MySQL 8, REDIS 6 and Serverless Lambda using Laravel Vapor.

I come from a background where if something didn't work, we lost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Once, I had to build a “fake Infusionsoft” because it was down during one of our events, and so making sure your data is safe and secure is a top priority!
